Doug Love passed away on June 16.

Published on 7/17/2016

Passing along a note I received from Matthew Sullivan:

Lon,

I was wondering whether anyone had notified NCESA that Doug Love passed away on June 16.

There is going to be a memorial service this coming Wednesday at Mantoloking YC.

While Doug's three decades of competing in the E fleet, including winning the 1979 Easterns, was noteworthy by itself, his seeding of the fund to help young owners to convert their boats to asymmetric spinnakers may have been his most significant contribution to the class.

I would appreciate whatever the Class can do to spread the word of Doug's passing.

Best,

Matthew Sullivan (longtime crew for Doug Love, Sam Merrick, et al)
